2011-06 – The Great Smokey Mountain Lumberjack Feud

The Great Smokey Mountain Lumberjack Feud: June 2011

Engineer: Michael Brady, Inc.

Contractor: Whaley and Sons, Inc.

The Project:

The Great Smokey Mountain Lumberjack Feud project utilized (HDPE) High Density Polyethylene pipe as the material for storing the storm water on site.  HDPE was chosen because of it’s long life expectancy, superior joints, and cost effectiveness.  The storage pipe on this project was 48″ diameter while the manifolds were 18″ diameter (as shown in the second picture below).  This allows the smaller flows to continue downstream while restricting larger storm events to be stored in the larger diameter pipe.
